SALT LAKE CITY (February 22, 2018) – The Utah Jazz announced today that Jazz alumnus Darrell Griffith will make an appearance on Friday, Feb. 23 as the team takes on the Portland Trail Blazers in its first game back from the All-Star Break.
On Friday, Griffith will join the Jazz TV and Radio broadcasts and will interact with fans by hosting a live Q&A via Utah Jazz Twitter from 4:45-5:15 p.m. Griffith, the first ever Jazz NBA Slam Dunk Contest representative in 1984 and 1985, will also participate in a pre-game recognition honoring Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell for winning the 2018 Verizon Slam Dunk Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend. ChristmasSing-AlongThe annual Christmas Carole Sing-Along will feature the 60-piece West Valley Symphony of Utah and a special musical performance from One Voice Children’s Choir. KSTU Fox 13’s Big Budah will emcee and Donny Gilbert will serve as the music director. Sterling Poulson returns as the guest conductor.

It will also be the first time an NBL team will travel to the U.S. to play against an NBA team. The building construction surrounding the $125 million renovation of Vivint Smart Home Arena is in full swing with the conclusion of the Utah Jazz season. Today, a second digital animation of the arena has been released, providing visual insights into the Arena Rising as presented by Rocky Mountain Power.
Part II of the video series provides a futuristic look at the Southeast Entrance, courtside suites, level three loge box, level four Executives Club and individual suites, the WCF Insurance Loge Club and the level six social corners.
